Welcome to First Grade!
I am so very excited about this school year.  There are so many new and exciting things for us to do and learn .  During Social Studies we are studying citizenship.  Please talk to your child about the importance of following rules and becoming a good citizen.   I appreciate your support in fostering a positive experience in first grade!  

•      Ask your child to tell you what questions he/she asked the teacher each day.
•      Work with your child on tying shoes until he/she has mastered it.
•      Check your child's homework folder each day for homework and/or notes from the teacher or school.
•      Have your child count objects with you.
•      Have your child draw and cut straight and curved lines.
•      Read at least one book each day with your child.
